Julius Caesar (13 July 100 BC – 15 March 44 BC)

Gaius Julius Caesar was a Roman statesman, general, and notable author of Latin prose.  He played a critical role in the events that led to the demise of the Roman Republic and the rise of the Roman Empire. In 60 BC, Caesar, Crassus, and Pompey formed a political alliance that dominated Roman politics for several years. Caesar also became the first Roman general to cross both when he built a bridge across the Rhine and conducted the first invasion of Britain.

The Ancient Colosseum Dome:

The Colosseum (or Coliseum) was started by Vespasian (AD 9 - 79) on becoming emperor in 69 AD. It was built on the site of Nero’s Golden Palace in order to give the land back to the people having been acquired by Nero following the great fire of Rome in 64 AD when the previous amphitheatre was destroyed. Vespasian never saw the amphitheatre completed as he died in 79 AD. It fell to his sons, Titus and then Domitian to complete the project. When it was first built, the Colosseum was surrounded by an area paved with large travertine slabs with boundary stones set in the ground. A Colossal statue of Nero, which stood by his palace was retained and it was that which gave it its name although its’ correct name was the Flavian Amphitheatre - after the Flavian dynasty of Vespasian, Titus and Domitian.

The Colosseum Dome at Sai World Empire, the first of its kind dome shaped theatre at Sai World Empire is inspired from the Roman empire during the reign of Caesar. It is also a tribute to the famous play ‘Julius Cesar’ by William Shakespeare.
